Hi Ally,
I like the quotes you put up. Especially the Thoreau and Eleanore Roosevelt ones. I am a big fan of quotes and actually have some pinned up around my office computer here. Just thought i'd say hi.
When you're struggling for words of your own, I always find that a little quote can stoke the fire of creativity.
Thanks for stopping by!
I'm another quotation fan. I love your art quote, I'd never seen that before.
Wow. New visitors...I feel so popular on a Friday!
I'm curious - how did you guys find me?

Well then.
HD Thoreau was a genius. I wish more people today, especially the far right folks of the world, would take a few minutes to read Walden's Pond.
Eleanor had to put up with so much shit from Franklin it's a wonder she had any energy to be the brilliant person she was.
Who do we have that is even close to these folks today????

The impersonal hand of government can never replace the helping hand of a neighbor.
Hubert Humphrey
OK, so I'm on the board of my home owner's association. It's the one and only position I've EVER been elected to. Some honor huh?
Anyway. I think Mr. Humphrey's quote is one I shall be pushing to have pasted on our neighborhood letterhead.
Thanks for the inspiration Ally!

Here's a few of my own from some of my own personal faves...
"We are the product of unseen hands."--Myles
"Without sounding too far out, I think God has been haunting me. He's been lingering around people in my life, the music I listen to, the car I drive, the books I read, the coffee I drink, the beer buzzes I mumble, money, the back porch with boys, my fiancee's dern near everything; and there's a good chance He has said very little about sin. In fact, when I really think about it, He mostly says, "Kevin, I can be in this too." It's as if He knows what I think is cool and He just hangs around it, like a pubescent boy at a cheerleader's locker. Because He likes me. Because He created this whole mess of us and He wants us back Home. Because it's all His anyway and He can." --Kevin Still
"I am no longer convinced that balance is at all attainable or even desirable. Who said i must learn to take bad with my good. I want good, all and only good. Why doesn't the world tell us to be humble and loving in our relationships, finances, spiritual life etc. and experience the complete goodness of healthy and whole living instead of telling us to seperate our lives into parts and then balance those parts...because at the end of the day striving for balance simply leaves me exahusted." --Chelsea Robertson
Now, I say to you today my friends, even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream. I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: - 'We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal.'

This is by far the most successful post I've ever had.

To be honest, I'm not sure how i came across your blog, but it definately caught my eye. I bet I could guess your personality type if I had to too (b/c I read way too much about that stuff)...i would guess you are an ENFP or maybe an INFP? I just recognize people's blogs that i come across that fall under the "NF" b/c they have a sort of dreamy-eyed outlook on things. (i am one myself!). Type it into google and read the description to see if i'm right. :) It's kinda fun. Oh, and I also like the stuff you put in here about God. It's a good read.
i said that? holy crap, i'm smart.
Posted on Cass' behalf:
"The limits we set for ourselves exist in our minds. Sometimes, if we let our hearts do the talking and believe in our ability to overcome past perceptions, we can create another reality."
- Bob Dedinsky
This quote is the mecca, or better stated, the anthem, of my soul these days.
On a not-so-deep level, here's my husband's favorite quote... "A non-smoking section in a restaurant is like a non-peeing section in a pool." For those of who you know Julius, you know he cracks himself up with this one. Ally, I'm reading your blog, girl, but I'm just not one to be profound early in the morning when I'm on the internet. hee hee
