Follow The String

Sometimes I imagine that carry a ball of string with infinite threads that I wrap around everyone I meet, then they take it on their own way. We are all intertwined through these connections. Last summer, I took the spiderweb to Kenya, and passed it off to some beautiful people. Come on in. Watch it grow. Help me learn something.

selah

ahh...rest. Selah is a biblical term that I've referenced before. As I've heard it translated, it's like a holy pause. Beautiful.

I'm about to embark on a weekend of utter calm with three of my best friends. Cass, E, Jeter and I are all heading down to Big Cedar Lodge in Missouri to kick it and relax. I've been there twice before, and it's a beautifully tranquil place where calm permeates, perspective is gained, and if I get quiet enough, I think God's going to tell me some great stuff. Truly, selah.

While I can't fully convey how much I'm looking forward to this, I think my playlist might reflect how excited I am. So, without further ado...the perfect playlist for a resort just outside of Branson, MO, where you intend to relax with three amazing women, and return connected to the Americana spirit. Check it, jam out, and get excited for summer.

The playlist is long, but I ain't got nowhere to go :)

This looks like such a pretty place! Dig the playlist, too. Why doesn't Snoop get to accompany you to Branson??

So you're asking for donations to pay for your trip to Kenya, but you can afford to spend the weekend at this lavish resort?

If anyone is concerned about how your financial gifts are being used towards this trip, I will be happy to discuss the specifics, just contact me directly.

This trip is a gift from a friend, and I am heavily contributing my own funds to this trip.

Dear Anonymous,
I assume if you are writing on this blog, that there's a good chance that you aren't a stranger so get the courage to talk directly to Ally about your concerns. Or if you have concerns about the itinerary or costs of the trip, talk to me. I am a witness to the fact that Ally is personally investing a significant amount of her own money in this trip. Ally's fundraising has been full of purpose and integrity. She offered an incredible party, with great food, while asking for only a small donation of $10.00. And that party was a significant event because although it didn't raise significant money, it raised significant awareness and brought people of different cultures together. If you have an issue with her fundraising, then talk to her or just don't give, but my question to you is... what are you doing to make a difference in the world? ...
