Follow The String

Sometimes I imagine that carry a ball of string with infinite threads that I wrap around everyone I meet, then they take it on their own way. We are all intertwined through these connections. Last summer, I took the spiderweb to Kenya, and passed it off to some beautiful people. Come on in. Watch it grow. Help me learn something.

Free

I wanna see one of these guys. He's reason #3 that I'm excited about going to Kenya. Real nature. None of this behind the cage at a zoo crap. They're out in public. Living. Breathing. Making that cool noise they make that's like a REALLY loud horn.

I bet they don't get stressed out. And they're just as blessed as we are. They're under the same beautiful sky, enjoying all the bounty of the world.

We have it better because we have thoughtful realization...supposedly. I'm happy that I can think and create and be all the things that make me human. But today, as I check items off my to-do list, think about getting my transmission fluid changed, and wonder if I have enough time to go to the store before my Red Tent group meets, I wonder:

What would my day look like if I lived like he does? Simply. Free. Walking around, eating grass, pausing to enjoy the bounty of life and spraying people with water?

Man, elephants are my 2nd favorite, behind only, of course, the giraffe (twiga). Elephants develop relationships with families and they hang together for life. When one of them dies, they MOURN. Really. They are very relational very cool animals. I LOVE giraffes because they're sexy and they know it...they strut around with their too long legs and bat their covergirl eyelashes, hips swaying back and forth, thinking, "yeah, you know i'm hot...watch me." awesome.

That's one BIG elephant.

As for you eating grass all day, that's a pretty funny picture.

And a comment on the topic that preceded this; you're right most of us are really afraid of failing. But part of succeeding is failing. When we're babies we don't just stand up and walk. We fall down a few times even AFTER we learn to crawl. We learn from our mistakes and our failures. I know you know that though.

I really don't know you THAT well Ally, but I have never sensed such a focus from anyone as I have you regarding this endeavor and your life in general. Sure, you'll have challenges and stumbling blocks along the way to this goal, some may really scare the crap out of you our set you back in other areas you want to grow in, but I highly doubt any of them will stop you from reaching your goal. You're too darn focused.

By the way, what else are you thinking about these days?

Thanks for the encouragement, Bruce. I needed to hear that. I've been slowly learning about the revealing processes of life and what they mean. Part of my gift of focus means a lot of impatience and wanting to be at the end of the journey pretty fast.

See my newest blog for an answer to what else I'm thinking about...even though it seems to be mostly Kenya lately, there ARE other things ruminating about in this head :)
